Classical CD Review from Audiophile Audition
mars 11th, 2011„Some heady and accomplished music-making in three sonatas of disparate styles, with each receiving a romantic’s sensibility in sturdy.“ Gary Lemco
Sonatas by Strauss, Mozart, Schumann
nóvember 21st, 2010Strauss: Sonata Op. 5 in b minor
Mozart: Sonata Kv 332
Schumann: Sonata Op. 22 in g minor
These sonatas show the piano from three different perspectives: Strauss gives the piano an orchestral quality, Mozart takes the classical approach and Schumann’s transition from classical to romantic style can easily been observed.
A Tribute to Caio Pagano
október 14th, 2010The concert pianist Caio Pagano has had a very successful carrier as a pianist and as a teacher as well. A professor of piano at the Arizona State University in Tempe/Phoenix, AZ for many years he took part in building up the ASU – Music School and making it on of the highest ranking in the US. Now recently retired from the Music School he has arranged three recitals where he will bring his former students to Tempe to perform with him. Most of the music will be performed on two pianos or four hand on one piano but there are some solos also on the program.
On Saturday, November the 6th 2:30 p.m. I will perform with Caio Pagano the first two movements from the Sonata op. 34 bis by J. Brahms which is a composer’s transcription of a string quintet for two pianos. Also the ASU professor in singing Judy May will perform with me five of my songs in the same program.
